All students follow a range of qualifications offered by the OCR exam board.

There are two main pathways:

 

  • 21st Century Science

Assessment is via external (examinations) and internal assessment (coursework, which is then externally moderated).

All students take Core Science GCSE.

Students then have the option of taking either Additional Science GCSE or Additional Applied Science GCSE (a more vocational approach).

In 2008:

  • We will be offering Triple Science to a select group of students.
  • We will be discontinuing Additional Applied Science GCSE. Students who will benefit from chosing a vocationally based Science course will be given the opportunity to take OCR Nationals Level 2.

 

  • OCR Nationals Level 2

Assessment is via internal assessment i.e. there are no external examinations for this subject. This course is the equivalent to 2 GCSEs at grade A*-C.
